* Listing examples “ 有 ” + the use of a dot to list things

On the contrary, when we are listing some of the examples or all of the examples, we have to use the word “有” in Chinese to do so. 

For example:

香港有名的宗教場所有黃大仙、寶蓮寺、清真寺和天主教堂等。
Hoeng1 gong2 jau5 ming4 dik1 miu6 jyu5 jau5 wong4 daai6 sin1, bou2 lin4 zi2, cing1 zan1 zi2 wo4 tin1 zyu2 gaau3 tong4 dang2。
    When we want to give a few examples, we will use three dots “ …” or “ so on” in English to help us. However, we will use six dot “……” or “ 等 ” to leave out examples that we do not want to mention in Chinese.
    For the Punctuation mark, there are difference between Chinese and English. From the above example, we use comma to separate items 
    in a series in English. However, we use a dot(、) to separate items in a series in Chinese. 
    The last item in a series is usually preceded by a conjunction. They are “and” or “or” in English and “ 和 ” or “ 或 ” in Chinese.
    The use of punctuation mark in Chinese is quite complicated. So far, we have learnt two punctuation marks. The first one is dot (、)  to list things . 
    The other is a “full stop”. In Chinese, the full stop is like a small circle (。). It is used when the whole idea is finished.
